Lyxor AM Expands ETF Coverage Beyond Asia

by Michael Johnston on May 7, 2009

Lyxor International Asset Management, a subsidiary of Société Générale, announced today that it will list 5 new ETFs on SGX, an integrated securities and derivatives exchange located in Singapore. Four of the five new ETFs will track markets outside of Asia and the U.S., a first for the SGX. The funds are:

  • Lyxor ETF Eastern Europe
  • Lyxor ETF MSCI Emerging Markets
  • Lyxor ETF MSCI EM Latin America
  • Lyxor ETF MSCI World
  • Lyxor ETF Nasdaq-100

While the growth of the ETF market in the U.S. has been well documented, the expansion of ETF markets in other markets around the world is also noteworthy. The launch of these funds represents a significant expansion of the SGX’s ETF offerings, both in number of funds and geographic areas covered. Currently, there are 30 ETFs traded on the SGX, all of which track indices in Asia and the U.S.

The move solidifies Lyxor AM’s position as the leading ETF sponsor in Singapore, bringing to 18 the total number of ETFs it has listed on the SGX. Expense rations for the funds, which will be passively managed, will range from 0.30% to 0.65%.
