This ETF offers exposure to 40 of the largest companies that are domiciled in the Andean nations of Chile, Colombia, and Peru. It provides broad based exposure these three surging nations which have grown in popularity in the investment world over the past few years thanks to surging resource prices and quickly growing populations in these South American countries. Unlike many regional ETFs, AND has a reasonable breakdown among its members with each of the three taking up at least one fourth of the assets although Chilean securities do dominate the fund, making up slightly more than 50% of the holdings. For investors seeking broad exposure to emerging South America, but who already have some holdings in either Brazil or Mexico, AND could be a quality choice that ensures that you don't double down on the giants of the region. However, it is important to note that the fund is highly concentrated in natural resource companies so a prolonged slowdown in commodity prices could adversely impact the fund while a boom would undoubtedly help AND surge higher.
