Index Description
The Dow Jones U.S. Total Stock Market Index is a float-adjusted market capitalization weighted index that reflects shares of securities actually available to investors in the marketplace. To be included in the Index, an issue generally must be all of the following: (i) an equity issue (common stock, REIT or limited partnership); (ii) a security that has its primary market listing in the U.S.; and (iii) a U.S. headquartered company.
