Barclays iPath: ETF Issuer Profile

In 2009, Barclays agreed to sell its Barclays Global Investors unit, which includes iShares, to BlackRock for approxiamtely $13.5 billion. BlackRock is one of the world's largest publicly traded investment management firms, and the combined entity will have more than $2.7 trillion in assets under management.
