ELEMENTS are exchange-traded notes (ETNs) issued by Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, a subsidiary of Bank of America. The ELEMENTS family of ETNs seeks to track markets and strategies that may otherwise not be readily available to individual investors. The markets tracked include commodities such as gold, agriculture, and biofuels; currencies such as the GBP and Euro; and equity strategies such as small-cap value and large-cap value, just to name a few.
