Guggenheim Funds acquired Claymore Securities in 2009, and officially changed the name of the company’s ETF products in September 2010. Guggenheim has also acquired Security Benefit Corp., which is the parent company of Rydex. Guggenheim announced the acquisition agreement on February 16, 2010, and the deal was closed in August of that year. All former Rydex ETFs have been moved to Guggenheim.
Guggenheim’s ETF offerings consist of many innovative products, including several that represent industry firsts in ETF sector investing, including global airlines, global shipping, solar power, and global water to name a few.
