The United States Agriculture Index Fund (USAG) will implement a variation of the methodology used by USCI, dubbed the “contango killer” commodity ETF, that debuted in 2010 and has accumulated about $400 million in assets. Instead of maintaining static weights to various agricultural commodities, USAG will seek to replicate an index that shifts exposures based on current market conditions [see Free Report: Everything You Need To Know About Commodity ETFs]. Under The Hood USAG will seek to replicate the SummerHaven Agriculture Index Total Return, a benchmark that consists of fourteen agricultural commodities: soybeans, corn, soft red winter wheat, hard red winter wheat, soybean oil, soybean meal, canola, sugar, cocoa, coffee, cotton, live cattle, feeder cattle and lean hogs [see [...]
Click here to read the original article on ETFdb.com.

Related Posts:

USCF Offers New Type Of Copper ETF (CPER)

February ETF Flows: Commodities Are Hot, Emerging Markets Are Not

Ultimate Guide To Agricultural ETFs: Agriculture ETF Investing 101

ETF Technical Trading FAQ

April Roundup: Launches, Filings, and Closures

<IMG SRC="http://ad.doubleclick.net/ad/N3220.etfdb.comOX20380/B6170340.6;sz=1x1;pc=[TPAS_ID];ord=[timestamp]?"
Stock markets retreated last week as sparse economic data releases paved the way for profit taking. This week will see a host of important fundamental news on the home front as investors digest durable goods orders, GDP, and consumer spending data. Markets are off to a hot start as Ben Bernanke’s speech on Monday morning lifted hopes for an additional round of stimulus, however expectations for further quantitative easing are still purely speculation at this point. The bull-train is gearing up again, although investors will need some fundamental evidence for the rally to be sustained. Weekly Outlook Below, we highlight ETFs that may see an increase in trading activity as relevant market data is released and evaluated by investors: State Street SPDR Homebuilders ETF (XHB): The Case-Shiller home prices index is slated to come out on Tuesday morning, which could spark volatile trading in XHB as investors gain insights into the health [...]
Click here to read the original article on ETFdb.com.

Related Posts:

ETF Insider: Gear Up For Turbulence

ETF Insider: Euphoria Simmers After Mixed Data

ETF Insider: Picky Bulls, Broad Bears

ETF Insider: Be Wary Of A Dead Cat Bounce

ETF Technical Trading FAQ

<IMG SRC="http://ad.doubleclick.net/ad/N3220.etfdb.comOX20380/B6170340.6;sz=1x1;pc=[TPAS_ID];ord=[timestamp]?"
Equity markets started off the final trading week of the year on a mixed note, with many taking profits and locking in gains, while some cheered on the positive economic data at home. The holiday weekend wasn’t enough to inspire a full-scale Santa Claus rally like many had hoped ; the Nasdaq led with way higher, clinching a 0.25% gain, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average Lagged Behind, turning in a loss of 0.02% on the day. Gold futures inched lower as stock markets drifted sideways, with prices for the precious yellow metal settling near $1,595 an ounce as the trading session drew to a close [see ETF Insider: Slick Picks For Year End Bulls]. Prospects for the U.S. economic recovery continue to improve as better-than-expected consumer confidence bolstered optimism; the figure came in at 64.5 versus the expected 60, blowing past last month’s reading of 55.2.
Wall Street started off another week in the dumps, as markets took a nosedive to end today’s trading session. By the time the day came to a close, the Dow had lost just over 100 points while the S&P 500 suffered losses of 1.2%. Gold experienced yet another rough day as investors have seemingly lost confidence in what was once considered one of the last safe haven investments on the market. Many feel that a flailing euro and uncertain equities means that gold may be headed for losses, with the precious metal dipping 0.2% on the day. Despite the losses that most equities saw, crude oil was able to jump about 0.4% as the commodity remains at what many feel is a depressed price [see also 12 High-Yielding Commodities For 2012].
American equity markets finished Thursday’s trading session mixed as a bearish report from JP Morgan dragged the Dow and S&P 500 lower. In fact, the Dow and S&P 500 both finished the day lower by about 0.3% while the tech-heavy Nasdaq, boosted in part by strength in giants such as Apple, Google, and Intel, rose about 0.6% on the day. Commodity markets were also weaker as the headline commodities of gold and oil finished the day lower with gold sinking 0.8% and oil falling by about 1.2% in the session. Beyond these products, investors saw a choppy session in the natural resource space as industrial metals sank but some softs, namely coffee, orange juice and sugar, rose higher on the session. In currency trading, the dollar was more or less flat on the day as the U.S. dollar index slipped to just below the $77 mark.
