Stock markets were quick to give up gains on Tuesday however, after disappointing corporate earnings results weighted down on investor confidence, while continuing Euro zone debt woes didn’t do much to remedy the situation. Checking In: Trading Ideas This week, our technical trading ideas included long recommendations in a commodity fund as well as an emerging market ETF, while [...]
Click here to read the original article on ETFdb.com.

Related Posts:

ETF Insider: Bad Week To Be A Bear

ETF Insider: Bulls In Drivers Seat

Teucrium Debuts New Agriculture ETF (TAGS)

The Turkey ETF Is Cooking

Daily ETF Roundup: DBB Gains On Data, UNG Sinks On Supply

<IMG SRC="http://ad.doubleclick.net/ad/N3220.etfdb.comOX20380/B6170340.6;sz=1x1;pc=[TPAS_ID];ord=[timestamp]?"
Domestic equity equity indexes struggled near technical resistance levels all of last week, however, the bulls prevailed on Friday. The S&P 500 Index opened and closes every single day above the key resistance level at 1,200; quite a technical feat, given that it failed to break this this level three times in the past three months. Stocks markets are not out of the woods yet by any means as many hurdles remain. Until the Euro zone debt drama is answered and lawmakers present a comprehensive plan we anticipate for volatility to remain lurking in the background. Gold remains range-bound and the precious metal flirted with support at the $1,600 an ounce level last week, and held as anticipated. Weekly Outlook The coming week will focus on the European debt summit and any news from overseas may have a bigger impact on the markets than corporate earnings reports at home.
One of the biggest stories in the investing world over the past few years as been the rise of emerging markets. These countries continue to grow at an impressive clip and are in a much better position from a fiscal perspective than their developed market counterparts. Furthermore, the countries often have more favorable demographics than fully-industrialized nations, suggesting that more gains could be had in the future as well. Unfortunately, many of these trends have become painfully obvious to pretty much every investor, causing many to pile into funds such as EEM or VWO for broad based exposure. Beyond these two funds, another popular choice has been to take a closer look at the BRIC bloc of countries which represents four large emerging markets, Brazil, Russia, India, and China. These four nations have, thanks to their large size and domination of key industries, attracted the lion’s share of assets by [...]
Click here to read the original article on ETFdb.com.

Related Posts:

Emerging Market ETF Investing: Beyond The BRIC

Beyond the BRIC: Ten Country-Specific Emerging Markets ETFs

ETFs For The “Next 11″ Economies

<a href='http://etfdb.com/2010/looking-for-green-shoots-try-southeast-asia-etfs/' title='Looking For Green Shoots?
