
Recent policy commitments within China lifted Mainland and Hong Kong markets in the last two weeks. Given the robust electric vehicle industry in China, it’s no surprise that many of its EV companies’ stocks soared on shifting investor sentiment. The KraneShares Electric Vehicles and Future Mobility ETF (KARS ) proved a beneficiary of the gains due to its broad exposure to the electric vehicle industry that includes many Chinese EV giants.
Li Auto rose nearly 42% in the period between 09/20/24 and 10/07/24 according to Y-Charts data.. Meanwhile BYD Co gained 33% and Nio Inc climbed almost 29% over the same period.

KARS gained more than 30% in the period from 09/20/24 to 10/07/24 on a total return basis according to Y-Charts data. The fund is currently trending well above both it’s 50-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) as well as 200-day SMA. When a security or fund rises above its SMAs, it’s considered buy territory for trend-followers and technical traders.
Invest Across the Electric Vehicle Industry With KARS
The KraneShares Electric Vehicles and Future Mobility ETF (KARS ) provides investors with exposure to the breadth of the electric vehicle industry. The fund takes not just a global approach to EV exposure, but also invests along the entirety of the value chain.
KARS measures the performance of the Bloomberg Electric Vehicles Index, which tracks the industry holistically. This includes exposure to electric vehicle manufacturers, electric vehicle components, and batteries. It also includes hydrogen fuel cells and the raw materials used in the synthesis of producing parts for EVs.
The fund invests in many familiar car companies such as BYD, Nio, and Tesla. It also goes a step beyond and invests in the companies that contribute to the EV value chain. These include Samsung, Panasonic, and Albemarle, a major lithium manufacturer.
KARS carries an expense ratio of 0.72%.
