Top Performing Levered/Inverse ETFs Last Week
These were last week’s top performing leveraged and inverse ETFs. Note that because of leverage, these kinds of funds can move quickly. Always do your homework.
Last week had great energy, specifically oil and gas. Six of our top ten performers for the week are oil and gas funds, and a seventh, the Direxion Daily Energy Bear 2X Shares (ERY ), has 44.5% of its assets in Chevron and Exxon. It’s no surprise however considering the time of year. A temperatures start to shift towards fall, there will always be bets for or against prices.
An interesting addition, not in the energy sector is the VelocityShares Daily 4x Long USD vs GBP ETN, (DGBP ). It’S a small thinly traded fund with under a million USD in assets and is expensive to boot at 150bps. However the bet is an interesting one and if returns hold this solid may be something for investors to watch.
