Weekly Asset Class Fund Flows
Investors often re-allocate money in between asset classes, whether to manage risk or simply to re-balance. This is our weekly snapshot of where ETF investors are putting their money.
The big winner this week was equities with almost $6 billion in new assets. Inflows from the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV ) to the tune of $4.2billion offset the $4.5 billion outflows from (SPY ), while a trio of Vanguard funds pulled in more than $2 billion each: (VB ), (VO ), (VTI ).
On the other side, commodities had a bit of a rough week as gold giant (GLD ) (SPDR Gold Trust), saw outflows of $570 million. The move isn’t that surprising as investors have pulled almost $3 billion from the fund over the last month.
