Founded in 1997, Direxion Shares, distributed by Rafferty Asset Management LLC, take ETFs to the power of X, quite literally. They specialize in leveraged exchange-traded funds and in 2008 became the first to provide 3x leveraged ETF products, which are designed to track daily investment results of 300% of the performance of their benchmarks.
