Short Term Municipal Bond ETFs seek to track the shorter maturity side of the domestic municipal bond sector. Munis are issued by state and local governments in order to finance day-to-day activities or special projects. Generally, munis are not subject to Federal taxes. Short-term bonds are defined as those with maturities of less than five years.
