Fossil Fuel Reserves ETFs can be evaluated across two metrics: Fossil Fuel Reserves and High Impact Fossil Fuel Reserves. Fossil Fuel Reserves measures the percentage of a portfolio’s market value exposed to companies that own fossil fuel reserves. High Impact Fossil Fuel Reserves measures the percentage of a portfolio’s market value exposed to companies that own high impact fossil fuel reserves such as thermal coal, oil sands, and shale oil and shale gas.
