This ETF offers exposure to companies that may benefit from the global increase in demand for consumer waste disposal, removal and storage of industrial by-products, and the management of associated resources. The fund focuses primarily on U.S. industrial stocks but includes smaller allocations to a number of other sectors and markets as well. As a sub-sector specific offering, EVX is likely far too granular for investors seeking to construct a well balanced, long-term portfolio. But this ETF can be useful as a tactical tilt towards a sector of the economy that may benefit either from short term developments or longer term demographic or regulatory trends. Not surprisingly, EVX is somewhat concentrated, with only a couple dozen individual stocks and hefty allocations to some of the biggest names in the portfolio. WSTE may be another name worth considering for targeted exposure to this sector, as there is some overlap between these products.
